Grant County Sheriff's Deputy Christoper Snider

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office has a new deputy, Christopher Snider.

On Feb. 25, Grant County Sheriff’s Office welcomed Deputy Christopher Snider to their ranks. A native of Northeast Florida, Snider comes to Grant County from the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office after serving five years at that post.

Although growing up in Florida, Snider said he attended “Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky. I graduated from Georgetown College and received a Bachelor of Arts in Religion with a minor in political science. While attending Georgetown, I met my wife. We’ve been together for eight years.”

An “avid golfer,” Snider said he enjoys “spending time with my wife and our two dogs” here in “the gorgeous state of Kentucky.”

Did he always want to be a law officer? Snider replied, “Law enforcement runs in my family. A majority of my family has served in law enforcement in some capacity, so I’d say that it was destined to be.”

Although coming to Grant County from Jacksonville “has come with it’s learning curves” and is a “huge adjustment,” he said, “The community here is much more welcoming and appreciative of law enforcement, which has been wonderful.”

Though his move from “city life” to Grant County, with it’s lack of “hustle and bustle,” is an adjustment, he said he is “elated to serve the community here in Grant County, and am excited to see what the future holds for this beautiful county.”
