Nina Faye Mayfield Beach, 88, passed away April 4. Born on Sept. 15, 1935, in Silerton, Tennessee, Nina was the daughter of Inez (Ross) and Aubrey Mayfield.

Nina graduated from Central High School in 1953, earned a teaching degree at Memphis State College and a graduate degree from Southwestern Seminary.

She taught at Crittenden-Mount Zion Elementary School for 20 years, shaping young minds and fostering lifelong friendships.

Nina was an active member of Vine Run Baptist Church and Williamstown Baptist Church, serving as director of VBS, Sunday school teacher, choir director and organist.

Nina was also involved in the Red Hat Society, Grant County Retired Teachers Association, and Grant County Homemakers. She was a passionate supporter of Grant County High School Volleyball.

Nina is survived by her husband of 60 years, Tom Beach; her son David, daughter-in-law Kristen, and granddaughter Eliza. She is also survived by her brother-in-law Jerry (Wanda) Beach, niece Nancy Beach; nephews Steve (Linda) Beach, Ross (Stephanie) Mayfield, Dan (Carol) Mayfield and David Petersen; nieces Paula (Glen) Harrell and Candi Cabiness.

Nina was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Russell Wayne Mayfield, Jim Mayfield and Willoudeen Petersen, as well as her niece Sheila Rakes and nephew Russell Mayfield.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, April 12 at the Elliston Stanley Funeral Home, Williamstown, followed by burial at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, Williamstown. Visitation will also be Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
