On Sunday, Feb. 25, the girls of Braves Youth Wrestling made history by competing in the first ever Kentucky Girls Youth State Wrestling in Ashland. There were nearly 200 wrestlers in attendance representing 57 different teams from all over Kentucky. This was one of the largest girls’ only youth events in the nation.

Braves Youth Wrestling took three girls to Ashland and all three girls placed in their respective weight classes.

Amelia Magee placed fourth in 6U 45 lbs; Mackenzie Dawson placed fourth in 10U 62 lbs; and Olivia Butler became a Girls State Champion placing first in 12U 81 lbs. These girls went out there and showed everyone exactly what they had worked so hard for all season.
