    He patiently waited on his chance to play, and never complained. Now redshirt freshman offensive lineman Drake Jackson of Woodford County has worked himself into the playing rotation at center and likely will only continue to play a bigger and bigger role in the seasons ahead for the Wildcats.
    “The energy is really good around here. I am enjoying everything. We are all feeling good. I am playing both center and guard. I am doing left guard, center, right guard. It’s all good,” Jackson said.

    The Williamstown Lady Demons season comes to a halt as they lost to number one seed Simon Kenton in the first round of the 32nd district tournament Oct. 16.
    With a young roster, Williamstown lost in the first three sets to the dominant Lady Pioneers.

  • Lady Braves season ends with...

    The Grant County Lady Braves season comes to an end Oct. 16 as they dropped game one of the first round of the 32nd district tournament to Walton-Verona in just three sets.

    The Lady Braves kept up with the Lady Bearcats to start the game.
    Walton opened with an 11-5 lead, and Grant County struggled to close the gap. After the Lady Bearcats stretched their lead to double digits, the Lady Braves effort started to lack. Walton won the first set 25-9.

  • Braves lose hard-fought battle...

    Grant County is still searching for their first victory of the season after losing a hard-fought battle 24-16 to Cincinnati Aiken on Oct. 13.

    It was the homecoming game for the Braves, who led 7-6 after one quarter thanks to a 23-yard touchdown run by Austin Smith, followed by Cameron Smith’s extra-point kick.
    Aiken scored five minutes later with a 11-yard TD pass, but the two-point conversion attempt failed, giving Grant County the one-point edge at 7-6.

  • Lady Demons defeat Lady Cougars

    The Williamstown Lady Demons defeated the Lady Cougars from Calvary Christian on Senior Night, Oct. 12, in four sets.
    Two seniors were honored by the coaches, teammates and fans for Williamstown.  Madison Helton and Samantha Fryman were honored before the game. The two played their last home game of their careers for Williamstown High.
    The Lady Demons got off to a good start in the first set scoring the first five points.  

  • Lady Braves lose close match to...

    The Grant County Lady Braves hosted Erlanger Lloyd High School on Tuesday, Oct. 10.  They lost the final home game of the season in three sets to the visitors.

    The Grant County Braves season came to an end on Oct. 16, losing in the first round of the 8th Regional Tournament 4-1 to North Oldham. The Mustangs were ranked 19th in the State.
