    A two-hour weather delay and a malfunctioning clock didn’t help matters Aug. 31 as the Braves could not find the end zone in a 14-0 loss to Henry County.

    Grant County Coach Jacob Morris said the night presented a number of unusual obstacles.

    A day after falling 1-0 to Grant County in a shortened match, the Williamstown Demons boys soccer team suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Walton-Verona in the All A tournament.

    The Bearcats beat the Demons 4-3 in penalty kicks after the Aug. 30 game ended in a 1-1 tie after regulation.

    It was a battle between county rivals Aug. 28 at Williamstown High School, and the home team got the best of the Lady Braves downing them in three straight games 25-17, 25-18 and 25-16.

    Grant County won 4-1 against Walton before winning 3-0 against. Williamstown  in the championship games of the JV Forcht Bank Cup at Eibeck Field.

     

    The Grant County All Tournament team consists of Jake Schultz, Dylan Schlueter, Rexx Cromer and Boston Traylor. 

     

  • Lady Braves win a thriller

    The Grant County Lady Braves volleyball team hosted the Bellevue Tigers on Thursday, Aug. 23 and came away with a victory winning both games for a best two out of three competition.

  • SK handles Lady Braves 10-0

    Battling the heat and a tough district opponent, the Lady Braves soccer team was shut out 10-0 on Aug. 27 by Simon Kenton.

    Due to the heat, officials broke the halves into 20-minute quarters. 

    However, once halftime came, the Lady Pioneers were already up 10-0 and the game ended with a loss for Grant County.

  • Demons fall 6-1 to Pendleton...

    Despite taking an early lead, the Williamstown boys soccer team allowed six unanswered goals Aug. 22 to fall 6-1 at home to Pendleton County.

    For the first time in a long time, the Williamstown High School has fielded a golf team.  

    The future looks bright for the Lady Demons too.  

  • Bourbon County’s 21-point...

    Grant County went toe-to-toe with Bourbon County for three quarters before a 21-point outburst by the Colonels led to a 41-20 loss on the road for the Braves.

    Grant County got on the scoreboard first with a 46-yard rushing touchdown by Austin Knipp, followed by a Cody Crittenden extra point.

    The first two weeks of the golf season have proven to be good ones for the Grant County Braves.  They continue to place in the top three teams of each of the tournaments they have played.
