    The Williamstown boys’ cross country team avenged their one-point loss to St. Henry in the regional meet to take home fifth in the state meet Nov. 3 at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

    The Braves ended their football season on a high note, dominating the game on both sides of the ball with a 41-0 win at Gallatin County.

    The defense shut the Wildcats out while the Braves amassed 403 yards of offense on 39 plays compared to 152 yards on 60 plays for Gallatin County.

    The Williamstown varsity boys cross country team and Grant County Braves runner Benjamin Spratt are heading to the state meet at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington.

    The runners qualified after impressive performances at the regional meet Oct. 27 at Sherman Elementary.

    One of the best soccer seasons in program history ended for Grant County with a 2-1 loss to South Oldham.

    The Braves’ defeat came Oct. 17 in the semi-finals of the 8th Region Tournament at Collins.

    Cody Trenkamp has written his name in school history as the all-time assist leader in Braves soccer.

    The record-breaking assist came as Trenkamp and his Grant County teammates defeated Gallatin County in the first round of the 8th Regional Tournament.

    A record-setting night by running back Nathan Kaiser propelled Grant County to its second win on the season.

    The Braves won 35-27 against Mason County on Oct. 19 in the team’s final home game.

    The Williamstown Lady Demons lost in four games Oct. 9 at home to the second-seed Walton-Verona Lady Bearcats 15-25, 12-25, 25-23 and 13-25.

    The Grant County Lady Braves volleyball season ended, losing to Simon Kenton on Oct. 9 at Williamstown High School in the 32nd district tournament.

    The Lady Braves lost in three straight games to the Lady Pioneers by scores of 25-10, 25-9 and 25-10.
