    Beware Grant County, a new scam call has started circulating, and it’s targeting close to home. 

  • Fiscal court hires new building inspector

    Grant County Fiscal Court only took a few minutes to hire a new building inspector compared to three intense meetings it took to set the salary for the position.

    Time is running out for those interested in filing to run as a nonpartisan candidate in the Nov. 6 general election.

    The deadline is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14 to run for mayor or to be a member of city council or commission in Williamstown, Dry Ridge, Crittenden and Corinth or on a school board.

  • Grant doctor sentenced to 151 months for drug trafficking

    Dr. Sundiata El-Amin, 69, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, was sentenced July 26 to 151 months in federal prison by United States District Judge David L. Bunning, for 173 drug trafficking offenses. 

    El-Amin was also ordered to pay a special assessment of $17,300.

  • Missing Corinth man found dead in lake

    A missing Corinth man turned up dead in a lake on Keefer Lawrenceville Road on July 29, but authorities don’t believe he drowned. 

    Grant County Sheriff Chuck Dills said Daniel Wade James, 32, may have died from an overdose involving alcohol and drugs based on evidence, but the death is still under investigation as they await a toxicology screening.
