    June 27, 1996

    Ray Berger resigned from the Grant County Board of Education to travel across the country. Berger, a retired Grant County school teacher, along with his wife, planned to travel as it had been a life-long dream of both. For his many years of service, Berger was given a preliminary drawing of the new Grant County High School.

    It is hard to believe it is under a year until the big day and it made me wonder, how marriage changes your life for the best.

    Marriage is between a man and a woman, a promise to be true to one another, in sickness and in health, till death do we part.

Webster was their neighbor and went to church with them and Steinagel grew up with them and went to Mt. Pleasant Church of Christ with them.

  • Life of a bagworm is a drag

    Who among us is guilty of not noticing it until it’s too late? Yes, all of a sudden there is nothing left of your blue spruce or arborvitae. Bagworms have been munching on the needles for weeks and we wonder how it all happened. Well, they are at work right now so go outside and take inventory of your evergreens because that’s what the bagworm likes the most. Now is the time they do their damage unless we put a stop to it.

    Holiday deadlines observed

    Due to the upcoming July 4th holiday, the following deadlines will be observed:
    The editorial (news) and advertising deadline for the July 4 issue of the Grant County Express will be 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29.
    The advertising and editorial (news) deadlines for the July 8 issue of the News will be 4 p.m. on Friday, July 1.
    The News office will be closed on Monday, July 4.

    Emily and Brian Walters of Crestview Hills would like to announce the birth of their son.

    Nathaniel Jeffrey Walters was born May 7, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South in Edgewood.

    He weighed 8 pounds and 7 ounces and was 21 inches long.

  • Grant-Webster set date

    Robert and Judy Grant of Dry Ridge are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Crystal Grant to David Webster, son of David and Patricia Webster of Dry Ridge.

    A wedding is being planned for 6:30 p.m. on July 16, 2011 at the Riverside Marina in Dayton, Ky.
