    A Dry Ridge teen will compete for the crown in the Miss Kentucky pageant June 28-30 in Lexington. 

    Hayley Leach, 19, was named Miss Woodford County, qualifying her to vie for the Miss Kentucky title.

    Construction continues for the expansion of the Grant County Public Library on Barnes Road in Williamstown.

    Susan Nimersheim, library director, said a new entrance into the library has gone into effect due to the construction.

    A semi-trailer caught fire June 20, causing miles of backed-up traffic for hours and beer cans and bottles strewn across Interstate 75 in Grant County.

    Cat in the Hat, Horton the Elephant and other well-known characters come to life in Stage Right Musical Theatre Company’s “Seussical the Musical” in July.

    The production at Main Street Gardens in Williamstown runs weekends from July 6 through July 22.

    Williamstown City Council passed their 2018-19 fiscal year budget during a special meeting June 22. 

  • Jury to begin deliberation in murder trial June 29

     

  • Nineteen-year-old pleads guilty in Crittenden shooting

    A 19-year-old Ludlow man was indicted for wanton endangerment by a Grant County grand jury June 15 for his involvement in a Crittenden shooting in March.

    Matthew Paul Reusch was arrested and charged for first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree assault March 7, but the grand jury only indicted him on the wanton endangerment charge.

    Grant County Fiscal Court voted 3-1 in favor of the 2018-19 fiscal year budget after a second reading during a June 18 meeting. Grant County Judge-Executive Steve Wood was the only nay vote, saying he didn’t like how the budget process went this year.
