    Country star Gretchen Wilson, a larger Kids’ Zone and a fireworks finale will highlight the third annual Rockin’ the Ridge.

    The free music festival is set for Saturday, June 23 at Piddle Park in Dry Ridge.

  • Two-year-old dies in Crittenden after found in hot car

    A 2-year-old girl was pronounced dead after being found in a hot car in Crittenden on June 9. 

    Kentucky State Police responded to a 6 p.m. call about an unresponsive toddler that was found in a Mercury Grand Marquis outside a residence on Big Bear Circle.

    The Northern Kentucky Health Department has initiated efforts to prevent the statewide spread of Hepatitis A from expanding to the region. 

  • DR woman arrested in stabbing investigation

    A Dry Ridge woman was arrested after she allegedly stabbed a woman in Corinth on May 23. 

    Amy Scott, 46, was charged with second-degree assault and lodged at the Grant County Detention Center. 

  • Severe wreck leaves five injured, one airlifted to hospital

    Five people were injured after a collision on KY-22 around 3:45 p.m. May 29 outside Dry Ridge.

    Two children, ages 9 and 3, were transported to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital and a third child, a 4-year-old girl, was airlifted to the same hospital as her siblings.

    A new, free splash park opens June 15 at 612 Water Works Road in Williamstown.

    Contentious discussion preceded a 3-1 passing vote to implement payroll changes for Grant County employees during a June 4 Grant County Fiscal Court meeting. 

  • Man drowns in Bullock Pen Lake

    A Newport man died from an accidental drowning at Bullock Pen Lake on June 3. 

    Kentucky Fish and Wildlife spokesperson Mark Marraccini said the victim is 64-year-old Michael Huck. He said Huck was participating in a bass fishing tournament when he fell overboard and drowned. 

  • DR Council shares spending concerns, passes budget

    Several council members expressed concerns about an ongoing $30,000 project at Piddle Park during the June 4 Dry Ridge City Council meeting.

    During the parks and recreation report, Mayor Jim Wells detailed the construction project that would build a retaining wall near the skate park and add concrete and blacktop to the parking area.
