  • Roy Alexander, 93

    Roy R. Alexander, 93, of Hamilton, Ohio, formerly of Dry Ridge, died Saturday, March 27, 2010, at the Ft. Hamilton Hospital in Hamilton.  

    Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Seiter of Hamilton, Ohio; brothers, John C. Alexander of Florence and Danny B. Alexander of Mount Zion; a sister, JoAnn Mayes of Florence; and one granddaughter.

    A joint funeral service was held March 31 for Alexander and his wife, Hazel, at the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge.  

    Burial was in the Hill Crest Cemetery, Dry Ridge.

     

  • Robert Winans, 67

    Robert E. Winans, 67, of Dry Ridge, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Florence.

    Survivors include his daughters, Suetta Lainhart of Williamstown and Rebecca Winans of Indiana; a son, Robert Earl Winans, Jr. of Carrollton; and one grandchild.

    Funeral services were held March 19 at the Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Crittenden.

    Burial was in the New Vine Run Cemetery in Dry Ridge.

  • Christine Skirvin, 95

    Christine Lafollette Skirvin, 95, of Erlanger, formerly of Dry Ridge, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospice in Edgewood.

    Survivors include her sons, Donald Skirvin of Fairfield, Ohio, Alvin Skirvin of Tucumcari, N.M. and John Skirvin of Holland, Mi.; six grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

    A memorial service was held March 22 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.

  • Thomas Fain, 60

    Thomas P. Fain, II, 60, of Corinth, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at the Georgetown Community Hospital.

    Survivors include his wife, Rita Ann Fain; a daughter, Rachel Ann Collins of Midway; a son, Timothy Fain of Georgetown; one stepson, Aaron Mullins of Whitesburg; brothers, Larry Fain of Warsaw, Kenneth Fain and Michael Fain, both of Harrison County; and two grandchildren.  

    Funeral services were held March 19 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Corinth.

    Burial was in the Raven Creek Cemetery in Harrison County.

     

  • Marvin Colson, 86

    Marvin Ransdell Colson, 86, of Burlington, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Williamstown.

    He was a retired maintenance employee for Diamond International in Norwood, Ohio. Colson was a member of God’s Community Church in Williamstown, the Linwood Masonic Lodge in Norwood, Ohio and a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason with the Valley of Cincinnati.

    Colson never met a stranger and always had a smile. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Louise Colson, in 1999.

  • Billy Goodrich, 70

    Billy Ray Goodrich, 70, of Williamstown, died Friday, March 19, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Edgewood.

    Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Sybil B. Littrell Goodrich; a son, Jim Goodrich of Corinth; a daughter, Annie Hoffman of Owenton; a sister, Betty West of Frankfort; 10 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

    Funeral services were held March 23 at Elliston-Stanley Funeral Home in Williamstown.

    Burial was in the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery in Holbrook.

  • Janet Raftice, 68

    Janet Faye Hurst Raftice, 68, of Williamstown, formerly of Falmouth, died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Edgewood.

    Survivors include her sons, Franklin Varner, Jr. of Witchita, Kan. and Anthony Varner of Williamstown; a daughter, Deddi Singh of Florence; brothers, Ted Hurst of Butler, Donnie R. Hurst of Crittenden, Eugene Hurst of Boca Raton, Fla., Gary Hurst of Hamilton, Ohio and David Hurst of Butler; sisters, Louise Borucki of Bloomfield Hills, Mi. and Kathy Gutridge of Falmouth; eight grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends.

  • Dorothy Ferrell, 96

    Dorothy E. Ferrell, 96, of Mount Zion, died Monday, March 15, 2010, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Williamstown.

    She was a homemaker and a member of the Mount Zion Baptist Church. She was a charter member of the Grant County Homemakers and she enjoyed quilting and flowers.

    She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth T. “Skin” Ferrell who died in 1997.

    Survivors include her daughter, Brenda (Bill) Points of Dry Ridge; her granddaughter, Holly Mann of Dry Ridge; and one great granddaughter, Harper McKenzie Mann of Dry Ridge.  

  • Loretta Lambert, 71

    Loretta Harvey Lambert, 71, of Latonia, formerly of Grant County, died Tuesday, March 16, 2010, at her residence.

    Survivors include her son, Lorne D. Lambert of Dry Ridge and grandsons, Dylan and Ethan Lambert, both of Dry Ridge.

    Funeral services were held March 20 at Hamilton-Stanley Funeral Home in Verona.

    Burial was in the Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill.

  • Rosemary Giles, 84

    Rosemary Jameison Giles, 84, of Jonesville, died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at the Grant Manor Nursing Home in Williamstown.

    Survivors include her daughters, Clara Gordon of Stewartsville and Sarah Webster of Jonesville; a son Herby Jameison, Jr. of Jonesville; eight grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; three great, great grandchildren; several step children, step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  

    Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Thursday, March 25 at the Eckler-McDaniel Funeral Home in Dry Ridge.

    Burial will be in the Jonesville Cemetery.
