  • The word “love” is probably the most abused, neglected, and misunderstood word in our modern context. I can think of three different ways in which we get love wrong. First, how often do we hear things like, “I just fell out of love with my spouse”? This shows that love is being understood primarily as passion. To be sure, there is a passion aspect. However, love is also virtue. Christ loved the Church and died for her when the church was ugly and committing spiritual adultery (Rom. 5:8; Eph. 5:25).

  • On Sept 15, relatives raising children were given resources for the unique challenges they face raising grandchildren or other relatives at GrandParentCamp held at Sherman Elementary School.
The camp was coordinated by Nancy Powell, the family resource center director at SES and marked not only the first such camp to be held in the Northern Kentucky area, it was the first GrandParent Camp for the national organization, ParentCamp. The goal is to have a GrandParentCamp in every Kentucky county.
