  • Forever His Choir to perform July 1

The Forever His Senior High Choir from First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange, GA, will perform at Crittenden Baptist Church (CBC) at 7 p.m. Friday, July 1.

With an emphasis on God and country, their program selections include contemporary Christian and patriotic music, including a salute to the armed forces.

  • Life is about relationships

One Sunday during announcements, I mentioned my sermon next week would be entitled “What Is Hell?” I followed that by saying

“Come early and listen to our choir practice.” At least the congregation knew what I meant—and laughed along with me at my unintended error.

  • What would Jesus do?

The other day, my family and I got a hankering to go get some ice cream (when I say we, of course, I mean me), so we went to a local fast food place for an ice cream cone. We went outside to the sitting area and there was another family already out there. Now, I am a stickler for rules. I believe rules are there for a reason. And so when I went out to the sitting area, blazoned all over the place were signs that said “No Smoking.” And guess what that family was doing—that’s right, the adults all had cigarettes in their mouths.
