Braves struggle at Lloyd Memorial Invitational

Where: Lloyd Memorial High School
What: The Braves struggles continued after losing two close games at the Capitol City Invitational at Western Hills High School, only managing one win over the break, defeating Whitham-Hanson Regional, MA 52-29, Dec. 29.
Upcoming: The Braves will have a tough test on the road as they will gear up for Walton-Verona Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Lloyd Memorial Invitational: 61-56 L, Campbell Co., 74-51 L, Boone Co., 52-29 W, Whitham-Hanson Regional, MA, 72-29 L, Bishop Brossart.

Lady Braves finish fourth at GC Invitational

When: Dec. 27-30
Where: Grant County High School
What: After pulling off their first win of the season against Pendleton County at the Edwardo’s Classic Dec. 22, Grant County was able to go 2-2 at their home tournament.
Upcoming: Grant County will make up a game against Gallatin County Jan. 6 at 7:30 p.m. Also, the Lady Braves will head on the road to Independence to face Simon Kenton Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Grant County Invitational: 39-23 W, Newport, 39-28 W, Williamsburg, 41-34 L, Frankfort, 59-36 L, Knox Central.

Demons still searching for their first win

When: Dec. 28-30
Where: Henry County High School
What: The Demons were close to their first win, as they were defeated by Letcher Co. Central 69-61 Dec. 28.
Upcoming: Williamstown will face Frankfort Jan. 6 at 7:45 p.m. and Trimble Co. Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Henry County Invitational: 69-61 L, Letcher Co. Central, 67-48 L, Henry Co., 71-38 L, Frankfort, 68-28 L, North Bullitt.

Lady Demons lose nail biter to St. Mary’s

When: Dec. 28-30
Where: Paris-Bourbon County  Invitational
What: The Lady Demons had an opportunity to defat St. Mary;’s with four seconds remaining in the game, but senior forward Tori Wilhoit was unable to get the shot in.
Upcoming: Williamstown will face Walton-Verona Jan. 7 at 6 p.m. and will be home for Simon Kenton Jan. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
