Andrea Sidener, a senior at Grant County High School, has been named a Student of the Month for January at the J.D. Patton Area Technical Center in Ft. Mitchell.
Sidener, 18, attends GCHS in the mornings and travels to the vocational school in the afternoons, where she is a student in the Allied Health Program.
“I went into it (health studies) because I want to go into psychology,” Sidener said. “I thought this would give me some in depth knowledge, so that I can be sure that I want to go into it.”
At GCHS, Sidener is the treasurer of the National Honor Society and she is president of the J.D. Patton chapter of Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA). She also works at KFC- Taco Bell in Dry Ridge. As busy as she is, she still makes time for her favorite pastime.
“I read a lot,” Sidener said. “My favorite author is Jodi Picoult.”
She has been accepted in the psychology program at the University of Kentucky and plans to begin her studies in the fall.
Sidener is the daughter of Michael Sidener and Sharon Abner, both of Williamstown.
She received a certificate of achievement, a Student of the Month pin and a $50 gift certificate. Student of the Month was sponsored by the J.D. Patton Chapter of HOSA.
