The Lady Braves hosted St. Henry Jan. 24 hoping to come out with a victory on their home court, but instead fell victim to the Lady Crusaders.

The Lady Braves lost by a score of 59 – 46.

The Lady Braves just could not get things to go their way as St.

Henry kept coming hard and strong for the entire game.
Coach Shawn West said before the game began that St. Henry was a scraping team.

“We should be the better talented team,” he said.

West warned his players they would have to play hard for 32 minutes for a win.

High scorer for the Lady Braves was Billie Hearn turning in 16 points.
West said the loss was disappointing.

“We felt we were the better team and should have walked away from this one with a win,” West said.

He stressed the Lady Braves defense isn’t where it should be at this point in the season and those defensive break downs have hurt the team.

The Lady Braves will face Augusta, Walton-Verona and Carroll County this week.
“We feel as a staff that the Augusta and Carroll games are ours to lose, if we play like we are capable we should have victories,” West said.

A win against the Walton-Verona Lady Bearcats would give the Lady Braves a chance at the number three seed for district play.
“We need to come prepared to compete, especially with this game being so close to tournament play,” he said of the Walton-
Verona match up.

West said the Lady Braves will continue to focus on improving each practice.
“With the season coming to a close, the opportunities for improvement are dwindling with approximately 10 practices and seven games remaining before district play begins,” he said.
