Corinth’s new post office opens Dec. 9 at 10 a.m., and it’s located at 315 Owenton Rd. in the park’s community building. An official ribbon cutting will be Monday, Dec. 11 at 11 a.m., according to a press release.

The post office will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The lobby will be open 24 hours a day, and its phone number is (859) 823-1999.

With the new post office location, anyone with a P.O. box key needs to return their current keys and get new ones at the new location.

The blue collection box that was located at its temporary location in front of the Corinth city building will be relocated to the new post office Dec. 9.

The postal service lost its lease to the former Corinth post office on Main Street, which caused a temporary office suspension.

Residents still had their P.O. boxes and a blue collection box available at the city building, but Corinth city clerk Tara Wright said residents found it frustrating to have to drive to Williamstown to purchase stamps or ship packages.

“It’s just wonderful,” Wright said. “I can’t wait until it opens.”
