Brent Bowlin to tour with Morehead symphony band

Brent Bowlin has been selected by audition to participate in the Morehead State University Symphony Band and Percussion Ensemble, who will be performing an eight-day concert tour in Spain, set for May 11-18 in the region of Valencia.

The tour also will include educational activities that will allow performers to experience the culture of one of the world's oldest civilizations.

Bowlin and the MSU Symphony Band and Percussion Ensemble will perform at least four times on tour with concerts in Denia, at the Centre Artistic Musical de Betera, El Centro Instructivo Musical "La Armonica" de Bunol, and the Conservatorio Profesional de Musica de Utiel.

Students are individually funded to participate in the tour with a sponsorship program through the Morehead State University Foundation.

Bowlin, a 2006 graduate of Grant County High School is the son of Deborah Jones of Crittenden and Bill Bowlin of Akron, Ohio.

At MSU, he is a member of the Percussion Ensemble. He is also a probationary member of Phi Mu Alpha music fraternity.
