  • GCHS Baseball players receives...

    During the 2014 baseball season, the Grant County High School baseball program had several players receive awards.  
    The shortstop, Austin Johnson, received 32nd District All-Tournament Team.  
    Conrad Jaconette, the catcher, received 8th Region All-Tournament Team.  

  • Grant County Chess hosting...

     The Grant County Schools Chess Team is hosting the Kentucky Blue Grass State Games Chess Tournament on July 19 at Crittenden-Mt. Zion Elementary School. For more information visit the website at http://bluegrassstategames.org/sports-list/chess/.
     

  • GCHS Boys Soccer tryouts

    Grant County Boys Soccer will be having tryouts for JV and Varsity from 7 to 8:30 each night on July 14 through July 18 at the Grant County High School. All players will need to bring tennis shoes, cleats, shin guards and have a current KHSAA physical. For more information, contact Garrett Griffith at garrett.griffith@zoomtown.com.
     
     

  • GCHS Girls Soccer tryouts

    The Grant County High School girls soccer team will be holding tryouts for junior varsity and varsity players on July 11, July 14 and July 15.
    Sessions will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at GCHS. Players need to bring shin guards, cleats and a ball.
    A completed KHSAA physical form is required in order to participate. The form can be found at http://khsaa.org/forms/ge04.pdf. For more information call Coach Dave Schmitt at 859-391-3214.

  • Williamstown archery team headed...

    Williamstown schools’ archery team is going to NASP World Tournament in Madison, Wisconsin on July 11 through July 13.
    They are expecting the best archers from at least 25 states as well as archers from Canada, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Mongolia to be this year’s world tournament.
    This is the archery team’s second year as a team and their second time going to the world tournament.

  • COACH CAL VISITS COUNTY

    True blue Wildcat fans got a chance to meet University of Kentucky basketball Coach John Calipari on June 20 when he made a stop in Dry Ridge.
    The national championship-winning coach visited Wildcats and More in Dry Ridge to sign copies of his new book, “Players First: Coaching From the Inside, Out.”
    About 100 fans took pictures and received autographs from Calipari at the store.
    Calipari said the book shares insights on his coaching philosophy, along with stories about his first few years at UK.
