  • Lady Demons fall to Harrison Co.

    The Williamstown Lady Demons varsity basketball team was defeated by the Harrison County Lady Fillies on Dec. 19 at Williamstown High School.
    In their first game of Christmas Break, the Lady Demons fought hard to defeat Harrison County but were ultimately unable to pull out a win, resulting in the team’s fifth straight loss and lending to their overall season record of 3-6.
    The Lady Demons team, under the leadership of head coach Kasey Kennedy, are focused on their goals and what they have to do on and off the court to be successful this season.

  • Webster competes in 2012 Jingle...

    Jenna Webster, 9, of Dry Ridge, recently competed in the 2012 Jingle Bell 5K run for the Arthritis Foundation. The event was held at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center in Covington on Dec. 8.


    Webster finished first in the 5 to 14-year old age group with a time of 24.40. There were 72 girls in her age group. There were 1,242 runners who finished the race and Webster was 148th overall.

    Webster received a medal and a backpack for her award.

  • Simon Kenton tramples Demons

    The Williamstown Demons basketball team faced the Simon Kenton Pioneers on Dec. 11 at home in a tough match that left the Demons battered but looking forward to future improvements.
    Simon Kenton dominated the court from the first tip, leaving little room for the Demons to score. The first quarter ended with the Pioneers leading 33-12 and by halftime the scoreboard showed a 55-24 lead.
    Williamstown has an overall season record of 1-7. After seven straight losses, the team has nowhere to go but up and is hoping to come back after the holiday break with a renewed game.

  • LADY BRAVES SQUEAK BY LADY DEMONS

    The Williamstown Lady Demons and the Grant County Lady Braves met Dec. 14 to battle for a win while also uniting for the season’s second Coaches vs. Cancer event, with proceeds being donated to the Grant County Relay For Life.
    Williamstown’s gym was stuffed with supporters of both teams who were excited to see the season’s first meeting of the cross-town rivals. The game did not disappoint as both teams played to their full potential and gave the crowd a nail-biter until the final buzzer.

  • Lady Braves prepare for...

    The Grant County Lady Braves and the Williamstown Lady Demons  both worked hard defensively and offensively when they met for the first time this season.
    Despite the Lady Demons effort, they fell short when the Lady Braves came out with a win.
    Billie Hearn scored 19 of the 53 points for the Lady Braves.
    “We played as a team even though sometimes we rushed the ball and our defense was good tonight, if it was not for the help of my teammates I would not of had this many points,” Hearn said.

  • Lady Braves fall to Gallatin...

     The Lady Braves gained control of the opening tip against the Gallatin County Lady Wildcats on Dec. 12 at home.


    The night started off well and the Lady Braves looked  as if they were going to do exactly what they were trying to accomplish until Gallatin County came out strong with 20 unanswered points in the first quarter of the game.
