  • Braves scratch Tigers in...

    The Grant County Braves had an intense game against the Beechwood Tigers on Jan. 23, but managed to scratch out a win 52 – 44 in overtime.

    The Braves tried to get their offense to work for them, but allowed the Tigers to stay right with them during the match-up.
    The two teams played hard and wound up tied at 40 at the end of regulation.

    Unlike during the game, the Braves  went ahead of the Tigers and never looked back in the overtime period.
    Logan Cummins was the high scorer for the Grant County Braves with 19 points.

  • Williamstown hosts All ‘A’...

    Williamstown High School served as host for the 8th Region All “A” Classic with seven teams competing for the title of district champion over a series of four nights.

    Owen County knocked Gallatin County out of the running on Jan. 15, the first night of the tournament and went on to win the championship game against Walton-Verona on Jan. 19.

  • Braves topple Pioneers

    The Grant County Braves hosted the Simon Kenton Pioneers on Jan. 19.
    The Braves were looking for a win to put the Braves on top in district play.
    The Grant County Braves came out intense knowing it was going to be a battle with the Pioneers trying to go home with the win.
    Logan Cummins was high scorer for the night, putting up 16 points. Cummins was followed by Tyler Carr with 13 points. Aaron Hicks slid in 10 points followed by Austin Johnson with five and Austin Anglin rounding out the Braves’ scoring with four points.

    The Grant County Braves traveled north to Villa Madonna for a showdown on Saturday, Jan. 12.

  • Demons fall to W-V Bearcats

    The Williamstown Demons are still struggling for a win despite the team’s persistent work and improvements. The team attempted to “Cage Those Cats” on Jan. 10 at Williamstown High School against the Walton-Verona Bearcats.

  • Demons celebrate homecoming

    Williamstown High School celebrated the new year with their annual homecoming night on Jan. 5. Students from the middle and high schools were selected to represent their respective classes in the night’s homecoming court, each vying for the winning title.

    The Williamstown Demons basketball team faced Villa Madonna with the hope of starting the calendar year with a win. Despite showing significant improvements midway through the season, the Demons were unable to secure a win. Their overall season record is 2-12.

    • In the second matchup between Grant County and Williamstown, the Braves boys’ basketball team hands the Demons a 33-point loss, sweeping the season series. GCHS won the first game by two points.
    • WHS senior Jake McKinley hit a last-second layup on Homecoming Night to help the Demons defeat Trimble County 70-69 in overtime.
