  • Grant Couny Golf named Region 8...

    For the first time since 1994, the Grant County boy golfers are regional champions. Houston Oaks Golf Course in Harrison County hosted the 2017 Boy’s Region 8 tournament Sept. 25 where the Braves took him the regional trophy.
    Not only did they win, they ran away with the championship by dominating the field with an 18-stroke win.

    How could Kentucky not have seen an uncovered Florida receiver on two different plays that gave the Gators two easy touchdowns? How could no one on the field seen a receiver waving his arms for the football because no one was lined up close to him? How could 11 UK staff members in the pressbox not noticed or how could no one on the UK sideline not seen a player standing five yards from them with no one on him?

  • Braves runner-up in tournament

    The Grant County Braves finished at the annual Dry Ridge Toyota Cup Sept. 16. They took a win against Beechwood High School 7-1 in game one, but loss to the Conner Cougars 3-0 in the championship game.

  • GCHS hosts annual Dry Ridge...

    The Grant County girls’ soccer team finished second in the annual Dry Ridge Toyota Cup.
    The Lady Braves defeated Pendleton County 2-1 in first game, then fell to Owen County 5-0 in the championship.
    Madeline Tucker, Morgan Moore and Bailey Caldwell were all named to the All-Tournament team.

    He’s not flashy or overly dramatic, but just being himself worked perfectly for Rob Bromley at WKYT-TV (Channel 27) in Lexington for just over 40 years.
    That run ends Sept. 29 when Bromley retires after doing what he came to love — covering University of Kentucky sports.

  • Grant County golfers finish...

    The Grant County boy’s golf team hosted the Tom Johnson Classic at Eagle Creek on Saturday, Sept. 16 and finished second out of 19 teams and a total of 99 golfers in the morning flight.
    Coach Michael Camacho said that it was pleasing to finish runner-up with such a strong field of teams and players.  
    “We beat a few teams today that I was not expecting to,” Camacho said.

  • TOM JOHNSON CLASSIC

    The Grant County Lady Braves hosted the Tom Johnson Classic golf tournament at Eagle Creek Country Club on Saturday, Sept. 16.  

    There were a total of 12 teams who competed on the day with several other schools represented by individuals who could not compete as teams because they lacked enough players.  

  • Lady Demons get first win of the...

    The Williamstown Lady Demons volleyball team travelled to Trimble County on Thursday, Sept.  14, and came home with their first win of the season.  
        The Lady Demons have had several opportunities to pull off wins this season but have seemed to falter down the stretch of their matches. But that wasn’t the case against Trimble.  

  • First-half explosion by GRC...

    Size and numbers were the difference as the Grant County Braves football team fell 47-14 on Sept. 15 at George Rogers Clark.
    The loss dropped the Braves to 0-5 on the season.

  • Lady Braves lose to Carroll...

    The Carroll County Lady Panthers travelled to Grant County High School on Tuesday, Sept. 12, and made their trip home a happy one defeating the Lady Braves volleyball team 22-25, 26-24 and 25-21.  
    Each of the three games stayed competitive and both teams had opportunities for big runs and leads.
