  • Braves mauled by Bearcats

    The Braves travelled to Walton on Feb. 3, to take on the Bearcats in a pivotal district game.  

    The Braves struggled all night long to get any offense going and fell to the Bearcats 51-29.
    It took over two minutes of play before either team could score in the game.  

    Zach Clinkenbeard got things rolling for the Bearcats when he hit a 10-foot jumper in the lane for the first bucket of the game.  

  • Lady Braves beat Lady Bearcats

    The Lady Braves basketball team hosted the Walton Verona Lady Bearcats Jan. 30 and came out on top with a 68-46 victory.
    The Lady Braves were led in a great team effort by post players Lindsey Kinard (16 points, seven rebounds), Madisyn Ruebusch (12 points and nine rebounds) and the guard play of Bryanna Ezell (15 points, four assists and three steals).  

    Abby West and Shelby Gutman chipped in with nine points apiece.  
    It was a great team effort from the Lady Braves for the entire game.

  • Eagles down Braves 78-57

    The Grant County Braves boys’ basketball team were handily defeated 78-57 at home Jan. 28 against Scott High School.  
    The Eagles took it to the home team behind the sharp shooting of one of Kentucky’s leading scorers.  
    Jake Ohmer of Scott High School scored 25 of his game-high 32 points in the first half leading his team to victory.
    The prolific shooter has scored over 2,000 points in his career for the Eagles.

  • Demons suffer heartbreaking loss

    The Williamstown Demons travelled to Walton on Jan. 24 to take on the Bearcats.
    They came up on the short end of a 60-59 score.  

    The Demons led throughout the first half of play but it was the third quarter that led to their demise.
    Williamstown jumped out to an early lead behind the scoring of Jon Jump, who had seven first quarter points.  

  • Demons blowout Pioneers

    The Williamstown Demon boys’ basketball has proven that they are a team to be reckoned with.  
    The Demons hosted Simon Kenton on Jan. 17 and overcame a one-point halftime deficit to run away from the Pioneers 66-54.

    The Demons used a strong defensive performance and sharp shooting to defeat the Pioneers.  
    Brady Montgomery drew the responsibility of finding Simon Kenton’s JC Hawkins.
    Montgomery hawked Hawkins all over the floor and held him down throughout the game.  

  • Trimble County wins big over...

    The Williamstown Lady Demons fell short Jan. 21 to the Trimble County Lady Raiders by a score of 53-34.

    Leading scorers for Williamstown included Haley Howe with 16, Justice Chambers with nine and Makayla Kennedy with six.
    The Lady Raiders held the Lady Demons to only four players scoring all game.
