  • Cardinals swarm Braves

The Grant County Braves boys’ basketball team hosted the number two ranked team in the state, the Scott County Cardinals, on Feb. 9.
It was not a good evening for the Braves, who were soundly defeated 84-34.

The Cardinals jumped on the home team early in the contest with a 7-0 lead, which forced the Braves to take a timeout to regroup.
Zach Tuggle got the Braves on the scoreboard with a backdoor cut to the basket on the inbounds play.

One of the more unique football recruiting stories has to be Abule Abadi-Fitzgerald and his journey from Nigeria to the University of Kentucky.
Steve Fitzgerald has been a high school basketball coach in Florida for 20 plus years. He once helped a friend find a school for a Nigerian basketball player who had been in school in Miami only to have the school shut down.
“The next time my friend went to look for kids to come to the U.S. to play basketball, he found a couple and contacted me,” said Fitzgerald.

It’s hard to find anyone who analyzes University of Kentucky football recruiting more than Freddie Maggard.
The former UK aquarterback and current Kentucky Sports Radio football analyst pours over game film of potential recruits to arrive at his own recruiting opinions that have nothing to do with the star rankings assigned by recruiting analysts.
