While all of the runners in the 1A state cross country meet had to deal with the weather, a Williamstown runner also had to do deal with a bout of illness.
Katie Butler, a freshman, ran while fighting strep throat, finishing 97th.
“I had a shot of penicillin, but my strep wasn’t all the way gone,” Butler said. “It was harder than normal. The weather also affected me. I didn’t run the way I wanted to. I should have done better. I was hoping to break my personal record from last year, but I didn’t.”
