  • Conner Cougars beat Lady Braves...

    Despite facing a hard-hitting team, the Grant County High School junior varsity girls soccer team found the back of the net three times in their match against the Conner Lady Cougars on Sept. 19.
    Not to be outscored, Conner also scored three times. The game ended in a 3-3 tie.

    The Williamstown Lady Demons volleyball team took a moment before their Sept. 19 game to thank their parents, along with bus driver Barb Burgess, for supporting them throughout the season.

    After the last of the bright orange flowers were distributed, the Demons switched gears and readied to face the Pendleton County Lady Wildcats. The Demons struggled through the first set and watched as the Lady Wildcats soared to an 11-25 win.

    Sept. 24 was a big night at Williamstown High School. The Lady Demons and Lady Braves volleyball teams faced off for the second time this season in an emotionally charged game between cross-town rivals

  • WHS band named Grand Champion

    The Williamstown Band of Spirit was named Grand Champion and swept all award categories Sept. 22 at the Conner High Classic in Hebron.  
    The band finished first in their class during preliminary competition and received all caption awards before competing in finals competition.
    Overall awards included” Best Music, Visual, Auxiliary, Effect, Percussion and General Effect.

  • GRANT COUNTY HIGH HOSTS GOLF...

    Saturday Sept. 15 was the perfect day for the 15th annual Grant County Classic at Eagle Creek Country Club.
    The boys tournament began at 7:30 a.m. when 70 players from 13 schools teed off to begin the 18-hole course.
    Grant County’s boys team consisted of five players and three individuals, among which only one player has a driver’s permit. This is a young team, but coach Lance Robinson is excited about their potential and feels lucky to be their coach.

  • WHS CC competes at Grant race

    “Like a pig field,” is how one runner described the course at the Grant County Cross Country Invitational Meet on Sept. 8 at Sherman Elementary School.
    Rain had soaked the course earlier in the morning, and for some runners, it was slower going.
    This was the third event Williamstown cross country teams had competed in this season, after their Sept. 1st competition at Ryle High School.

    A wet and muddy course greeted runners Saturday morning, Sept. 8th, at Sherman Elementary School.
    Despite the early morning thunderstorms and continued morning rain, 35 teams gathered to compete at the 39th annual Grant County Cross Country Invitational Meet.
