Now redshirt freshman offensive lineman Drake Jackson of Woodford County has worked himself into the playing rotation at center and likely will only continue to play a bigger and bigger role in the seasons ahead for the Wildcats.<br /> &ldquo;The energy is really good around here. I am enjoying everything. We are all feeling good. I am playing both center and guard. I am doing left guard, center, right guard. Photos by Mark Verbeck" align="left" hspace="6" width="123" height="85" /><p> The Grant County Lady Braves season comes to an end Oct. 16 as they dropped game one of the first round of the 32nd district tournament to Walton-Verona in just three sets.</p> <p> <br /> The Lady Braves kept up with the Lady Bearcats to start the game.<br /> Walton opened with an 11-5 lead, and Grant County struggled to close the gap. After the Lady Bearcats stretched their lead to double digits, the Lady Braves effort started to lack. Photo by Jerry Morris" align="left" hspace="6" width="87" height="85" /><p> Grant County is still searching for their first victory of the season after losing a hard-fought battle 24-16 to Cincinnati Aiken on Oct. 13.</p> <p> <br /> It was the homecoming game for the Braves, who led 7-6 after one quarter thanks to a 23-yard touchdown run by Austin Smith, followed by Cameron Smith&rsquo;s extra-point kick.<br /> Aiken scored five minutes later with a 11-yard TD pass, but the two-point conversion attempt failed, giving Grant County the one-point edge at 7-6.</p>
