  • Running in the Rain

    A wet and muddy course greeted runners Saturday morning, Sept. 8th, at Sherman Elementary School.
    Despite the early morning thunderstorms and continued morning rain, 35 teams gathered to compete at the 39th annual Grant County Cross Country Invitational Meet.

  • Lady Demons fall to Carroll’s Lady Panthers

    After losing the first two sets to the Carroll County Lady Panthers in their Sept. 10 game at Williamstown High School, the Lady Demons appeared to be ready for a come back.
    Williamstown and Carroll County battled through the first set of the game with the lead switching back and forth before the Lady Panthers took down the Demons with their last 4 serves, winning 23-25.

  • GCHS hosts Dry Ridge Toyota Classic

    The Grant County Braves and Lady Braves will host their annual Dry Ridge Toyota Classic this weekend.
    The Braves are expecting visiting teams to come to Grant County with a desire to win and ready to show off their skills, but the Braves are ready to play with heart.
    “We’re looking pretty strong this year and we have some good players who want to bring home a win at our own Dry Ridge Toyota Classic,” said Braves varsity coach Dave Schmitt.

    The Grant County Braves football team posted back-to-back wins with a 21-6 victory over the Waggener Wildcats on Sept. 7.
    First-year head coach Kevin Siple said the wins are a “step in the right direction.”

    Shelby Caudill was the star player against Waggener as he ran in two of three touchdowns.

  • Lady Demons defeat Gallatin Wildcats

    The Lady Demons soared to a win over the Gallatin County Lady Wildcats on Sept. 6 at Williamstown High School.
    Three sets were all it took for the Demons to shut out Gallatin County, winning 25-20, 25-11 and 25-19.

    Grant County wins grand champion honors at Beechwood festival


    The Grant County Boys Youth Basketball will be hold registration from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Sept. 15 at the Grant County High School.
    The program is for students in the second through the fifth grade. The fee is $65 player. This fee includes a game uniform.
    Registration deadline is Sept. 21. Youth league will start Oct. 15 and run through Dec. 15.
