  • Williamstown looking to tame Bearcats of Walton-Verona

With a new coach at the helm, there can be a learning curve for a team to adjust to their coaching methods.

That is occurring with the Williamstown boys’ basketball program as they have started the season 0-2, falling to Carroll County, 46-38 Nov. 30 and to a tall Owen County team 62-42, Dec. 3 at home.

  • Lady Demons get hard fought win over Lady Cats

It was surely not an easy win for the Lady Demons, but it was a win as they defeated the Lady Cats 55-46 Dec. 6 in Williamstown.

  • Lady Braves search for continued improvement

Any loss is a hard loss for a team and for Lady Braves coach Darrell Guffey, the first two games were tough, but it is time to look forward.

Grant County lost to the Lady Pioneers 80-37 Dec. 3 in their first home game of the regular season.

  • Lady Braves fine tune for Simon Kenton

The Grant County Lady Braves will have to make some improvements in time for their regular-season home match up with Simon Kenton Dec. 3, as the team fell to the Lady Rebels 74-36 Nov. 29 at Owen County High School.

“We have to get better in all aspects of the game,” Coach Darrell Guffey said after the game. “We can’t mature them overnight and we just are going to have to work with them on lots of things.”

One of those “things” will be getting the girls in better shape with more conditioning in practice.
