    Members of CETA (Community Enrichment Through the Arts) will meet at 7 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Grant County Tourism Commission office in the Dry Ridge Outlet Center.

  • Jolene and Herman Ferguson have only lived in the Dry Ridge Housing Authority for six months, but they like their new home so well, they planted mums throughout the complex.

    The brilliant purple, white, yellow and fiery orange plants grace the homes of many of the residents, including Zeffa Robinson, who has lived in the housing complex since it opened 25 years ago on Oct. 23, 1983.

    Robinson is 95 years old.

  • Kathy Faulkner of Williamstown has accepted membership in the Golden Key International Honour Society and was honored during a recent induction ceremony at Northern Kentucky University on Oct. 23.

    “It is only fitting that a top academic achiever like Kathy be recognized by Golden Key,” said John W. Mitchell, Golden Key’s Chief Executive Officer. “Our members are inspired and motivated not only to achieve exceptional academic accomplishments, but also to make a positive impact on our world through the society’s commitment to service.”

  • Most people enjoy lying on the beach or visiting family and friends during vacation.

    For Williamstown resident Terry Rayburn, painting is her relaxation.

    “It’s my greatest pastime,” she said. “It’s the only thing I like to do.”

    Rayburn has transformed two barns on her Lawrenceville Road property into canvases the past two years while away from her job at Bank of Kentucky inside Wal-Mart.

    Her latest work was finished in June and features Jesus overlooking moonlit, rolling mountains and pine trees.

  • The skills they learned in class took two Grant County High School students all the way to Florida.

    Jackie Frost and Jennifer Bowling traveled to Orlando over the summer to the Students Taking Action for Recognition national convention, which is part of the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America national organization.
