Hutchinson graduates from...

Recently, the University of the Cumberlands (UC) recognized Raul Maya of Dry Ridge, among 63 other undergraduate students as being a Hutton scholar during their annual commencement ceremony in the O. Wayne Rollins Center.
The Hutton Leadership and Community Service program is a four-phase program providing leadership training and community service opportunities for UC students.

WHS FFA Hosts National Officer

The Williamstown Future Farmers of America chapter held its annual chapter banquet on May 10, in the high school cafeteria. Steve Brown, the national FFA advisor for two years, was the featured guest. Williamstown is the only chapter in the nation to have the honor of hosting this well-respected leader. WHS also hosted Brandon Davis, the Kentucky state advisor, along with over 150 other community members and parents in attendance.

Nearly 1,200 students representing 48 schools from across the Commonwealth attended the 43rd annual University of Kentucky 4-H/FFA Agriculture Field Day. This event, hosted by the College of Agriculture and the Department of Community and Leadership Development, took place at Commonwealth Stadium. The field day events assessed the students content knowledge in the areas of agriculture, food and natural resources. Twenty-eight competitive events assessed students’ core academic knowledge in the area of agriculture.

BRAVES END SEASON 14-15;...

Coach Darrin Robinson used three words to describe the GCHS Braves baseball team this season: exciting, challenging and unfinished.
Robinson said the Braves played one of the toughest schedules in the state. High points in the season included a win over undefeated Collins who at the time was 22-0 and ranked number two in the state, as well as wins over several other top 25 teams.
“We played and did everything right against Collins,” he said.
