Williamstown honor roll students
ANNIVERSARY

Tom and Betty Trenary, of Williamstown, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 27, 2014.
The couple were married by A. L. Osborne in 1964 at Mary Helen Methodist Church.
In observance of their anniversary, a party will be held on July 5 at LaRosa’s in Dry Ridge.
The Trenarys have two sons, Scott (Lori) and Keith (Marrita), both of Corinth. They also have seven grandchildren, Kodi, Tucker, Hunter, Caylin, Jared, Kati and Cassie.

Williamstown archery team headed...

Williamstown schools’ archery team is going to NASP World Tournament in Madison, Wisconsin on July 11 through July 13.
They are expecting the best archers from at least 25 states as well as archers from Canada, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe and Mongolia to be this year’s world tournament.
This is the archery team’s second year as a team and their second time going to the world tournament.

GCHS Girls Soccer Tryouts:

The Grant County High School girls soccer team will be holding tryouts for junior varsity and varsity players on July 11, July 14 and July 15.
Sessions will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at GCHS.
Players need to bring shin guards, cleats and a ball.
A completed KHSAA physical form is required in order to participate. The form can be found at http://khsaa.org/forms/ge04.pdf.

Dry Ridge adds $40,000 to fire...

A week before the end of the 2013-14 fiscal year the Dry Ridge City Council approved amending the budget to add $40,000.
The additional funds were allocated to the Dry Ridge Fire Department, upping its appropriations for the year to $1.028 million.
Chief Tom Jump said before the first reading of the budget amendment that he did not intend to use all of the funds and any remaining would be put back in the city’s general fund.

Little League continues...

Grant County Little League has just wrapped up its summer season, but that doesn’t mean that work will stop at Grant County Park.
In fact, things might get a bit busier since the Grant County Little League Board will continue their renovation efforts at the park without having to schedule around games and practices.
The work began with a three to four year project that included four phases. With a lot of hard work, help from sponsors and local businesses and a little luck, the board was able to complete the project in just nine months.

INDICTMENTS

The grand jury, which met June 11, returned indictments against 31 people.
The indictment of a person by a grand jury is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
Those indicted were:
• Mandy D. Webb, 18, receiving stolen property over $500 but less than $5,000 and theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property with a value under $500.
