  • Parents need to let their children play

I never realized how intense parents of student athletes are not only here, but in all of Northern Kentucky.
I have noticed some behavior that is unacceptable.
I didn’t really realize the negativity coming from the stands until near the end of the soccer and football seasons. It also carried over into basketball season.

  • Times gone by, those were the days

I remember a character in a book I must have read years ago who always read the obituaries to see if he was still alive.

  • WORTH REPEATING:

“Courage doesn’t always roar.  Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says I’ll try again tomorrow.”
     ~Mary Anne Radmacher

  • I don’t think we’d go that far

  • Online content moves to subscription based Feb. 24

You may have seen the story on the front of last week’s Grant County News concerning our website moving to a paid model.
On Thursday next week, the Grant County News website www.grantky.com will become a subscription-based news and information source.
This does NOT mean there will no longer be a printed version of the Grant County News. We received a phone call after the story appeared, asking if the rumor was true that the Grant County News would only be on the web.

  • An enjoyable time at an unexpected place

I’m pretty sure I would not look good in tights.
There is simply nowhere to hide all of the neglected exercise.
Speedos, therefore, would probably be a bad idea as well.
Simply put, I could not be a professional wrestler.
The Flyin’ Bryan is not a catchy name in the least.
These outlandish thoughts came to me rather quickly when I recently went to a WWE, that’s World Wrestling Entertainment for the uninitiated, event in Cincinnati with my dad and older brother.
I have never been a fan of wrestling.

  • Policies must help create jobs

The General Assembly returned to full session this week in Frankfort and the Senate continued to focus on initiatives that will protect taxpayer dollars and the unborn.

  • Several bills on way to Senate

As we returned to Frankfort to resume the 2011 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly, we are faced with issues that are as wide and varied as the monster snowstorm that cut through much of the United States.
Several bills have already passed through the House of Representatives and are on their way to the Senate for consideration.
