    What: The Braves golf team led by senior Tim Livingood will tee off in the annual Grant County Invitational. Tee times are to be announced.

  • Braves host 38th Grant County Invite

    Grant County High School is proud to extend an invitation to the 38th Annual Grant County Cross Country Invitational Meet. This year’s event will be held on Sept. 10, at the Sherman Elementary School.

  • W’town falls to Walton-Verona

    After an exciting win over Grant County, the excitement ended almost as quick as it began, when the Lady Demons fell to Walton-Verona in the All A Classic.

    The Lady Demons weren’t able to keep up with Walton-Verona, losing in two sets in the second round Sept. 3 at Williamstown High School.

  • Braves in hunt for win

    After a 21-6 defeat to Western Hills Sept. 2, the Braves will be working on improvements in search of their first win against Waggener.

    Braves coach David Arvin has seen improvements from week to week, but said there is more to be done.

  • Lady Demons shock Lady Braves

    Jumping, screaming and cheering ensued on the court for the Williamstown Lady Demons as they upset Grant County in three sets Sept. 1 at Williamstown High School.

    “It was really good, especially that last tip I got. Our throats were all dead, we had been screaming so much,” Lady Demons’ freshman Ashley Marksbury said.

    The whole team gathered on their side of the court jumping and screaming as they made a comeback after falling early in the first set and winning the final two sets to win the match, avoiding a sweep by Grant County.

  • SINCE 9/11: 10 years later: McDonnells reflect on that day

    Seven minutes before our world would change following the terrorist attacks on 9/11, Amber Nicole McDonnell was born to Lana and James McDonnell of Sherman.

    Ten years, later the McDonnells reflected on the day she was born and where they are today.

    Lana went into labor on Sept. 9, 2001 and spent the next two days prepping for the birth of Amber Nicole at St. Luke’s in Fort Thomas.


    Rhonda and Shannon Asher, of Grant County, are pleased to announce that they renewed their wedding vows in a ceremony on Aug. 16.


    Verlajoe Patton, Williamstown leader of TOPS 388, Bonnie Rose, Kentucky State Coordinator, Mary Reed, Kentucky Regional Director, Barb Cady, U.S.A. Tops president and Sam Patton, member of TOPS 388, attended the SRD Conference recently in Lexington.

    Where was I on 9/11. . . I was a sophomore at Dixie Heights High School, when the Twin Towers, the Pentagon were attacked and United 93 crashed in Pennsylvania. 9/11 is also my birthday. I was 15 on 9/11/01.
