The grand jury, which met June 30, returned indictments against 11 people.
An indictment means there is probable cause to believe a crime has been committed; guilt or innocence is established later through the trial procedure.
Those indicted were:
• Patysisio Gamez, 33, criminal possession of a forged prescription.
• Shawn W. Mardis, 38, possession of a controlled substance, first degree, first offense and possession of drug paraphernalia, second or subsequent offense.
