After thousands of votes were recounted, Darrell Link has officially been re-elected as Grant County judge-executive.
Republican challenger Steve Wood decided to petition for a recount after he trailed by 45 votes at the end of election night and after a recanvass of votes Nov. 12.
At the end of the recount of paper ballots from the E-Scan machines, Link had a net gain of one vote.
There also were also at least 40 ballots that did not have any vote marked for either candidate or a straight party ticket.
Chas Morgan is Williamstown Elementary School Intermediate Student of the Week. He is in Amy Hickman’s fourth grade class.
“Chas is such a pleasure to have in my class,” Hickman said. “He is always working hard to better himself, always willing to help others, and challenges me to be a better teacher. His sarcastic sense of humor keeps me on my toes!”
His favorite thing about school is books and his favorite book is “The Lightning Thief.” Morgan’s favorite subject is recess.
Isaiah Magee is Williamstown Elementary School Primary Student of the Week. He is in Michelle Whaley’s second grade class.
“He is one awesome dude,” Whaley said. “He is sweet, polite, and always eager to learn.”
Isaiah’s favorite book is “Mr. Baseball.” His favorite subject is math and he likes gym and recess.

Williamstown Elementary School Intermediate Student of the Week is Ronan Fedak. He is in Trish Merritt’s fifth grade class.
“I chose Ronan for student of the week because of the progress he’s made,” Merritt said. “Ronan has improved in all academic areas and always gives his best effort. I’m so proud of Ronan and truly enjoy being his teacher.”
Ronan’s favorite thing about school is being with his friends. He likes math and his favorite book is “Pokemon.”
Destiny Wallace is Williamstown Elementary School Primary Student of the Week. She is in June Bodenhamer’s second grade class.
“Destiny was chosen as student of the week because she is always well prepared,” Bodenhamer said. “Her homework is always completed on time and it is extremely neat. She demonstrates good listening skills; she follows the classroom and schools rules; and she gets along well with her classmates. Destiny gives 100 percent all of the time. It is a real joy having Destiny as a student.”
