  • Fish on Fridays!

    The annual Lenton Fish Fry has returned to St. William Catholic Church and continues through April 15.
    The meal, including battered cod, three sides, cornbread, dessert and a drink will be served from 5 to 8 p.m. at 6 Church Street, off Waterworks Road. The cost is $7.50 per meal.

  • Reeds celebrate 25 years

    Gayle and Deborah Reed will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary from 2 to 5 p.m. March 26 at Unity Baptist Church, 1486 Jagg Road in Demossville.
    The couple was married on March 28, 1986. The party is given by their children and grandchildren. All friends and family are invited. The family requests no gifts.

    The Grant Co Extension service put on a Safety and You program at the Crittenden-Mt. Zion Elementary School. 4-H agent Dan Soliday gave a gun safety lesson to students while 4-H parent  Lyndi Sodden taught children about bike safety and the importance of wearing a helmet. Other safety courses taught included fire, farm, pesticides, railroad, higway and home alone safety. A first aid talk was also given.

  • Cummins celebrates 90 years

    An open house will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. March 27 at Lloyd’s Welfare House in the Grant County Park in Crittenden in celebration of  Norma Cummins’ 90th birthday.
    Light refreshments will be provided. No gifts are requested.

    What: The final registration for the Sherman Church of Christ’s Upward Soccer Progam will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. This program is open to all boys and girls in the community, ages 4 to 12 years old. For more information, cal (859) 428-0929.
     

  • Baseball clinic coming March 12, 13

    When: March 12, 13
    Where: GCHS baseball field (in gym,  if required due to weather.)
    What: The Grant County Youth Baseball Clinic will be held at GCHS and allows those ages 6-15 to learn the fundamentals of baseball. Any questions, call Tracy Goe at 859-322-6739 or coach Darrick Lee at 502-319-4645. Registration forms are available at all Grant County elementary schools and Grant County middle schools.

    The Grant County cheerleaders won the 32nd District competition in the traditional cheer category. Grant County cheerleaders are Christy Jones, Leslie True, Carrie West, Karianna Curd, Rebecca Soper, Janessa Mullins, Shantel Noel, Betsy Kinman, Mandy Covey, Bethany Bennet, Dione Smith, Tameca Vannarsdall and Amy Jones. They are sponsored by Dorothy Ryan.
