The Grant County High School JROTC Raider Teams competed in the Alternate National Championships hosted by Campbell County High School Army JROTC Program at Cove Lake State Park in Caryville, Tennessee.
Golden Hall, 31, of Corinth, was arrested at 6:10 a.m. on Nov. 28, about an hour after police say he robbed the Corinth Marathon at knifepoint.
According to police, Hall entered the gas station around 5 a.m. wearing a blue and black flannel jacket and blue ski mask. He demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk.
He left the station with $300 in cash and five cartons of cigarettes.
After thousands of votes were recounted, Darrell Link has officially been re-elected as Grant County judge-executive.
Republican challenger Steve Wood decided to petition for a recount after he trailed by 45 votes at the end of election night and after a recanvass of votes Nov. 12.
At the end of the recount of paper ballots from the E-Scan machines, Link had a net gain of one vote.
There also were also at least 40 ballots that did not have any vote marked for either candidate or a straight party ticket.
Chas Morgan is Williamstown Elementary School Intermediate Student of the Week. He is in Amy Hickman’s fourth grade class.
“Chas is such a pleasure to have in my class,” Hickman said. “He is always working hard to better himself, always willing to help others, and challenges me to be a better teacher. His sarcastic sense of humor keeps me on my toes!”
His favorite thing about school is books and his favorite book is “The Lightning Thief.” Morgan’s favorite subject is recess.
Isaiah Magee is Williamstown Elementary School Primary Student of the Week. He is in Michelle Whaley’s second grade class.
“He is one awesome dude,” Whaley said. “He is sweet, polite, and always eager to learn.”
Isaiah’s favorite book is “Mr. Baseball.” His favorite subject is math and he likes gym and recess.
