  • DOUBLE MURDER SUSPECT RULED COMPETENT

    A 36-year-old Dry Ridge man has been deemed competent to stand trial in the double murder of his wife and another man.

    Kenton County Circuit Judge Gregory Bartlett ruled July 29 that Shaun E. Hiles is able to face murder and other charges in the July 28, 2014, shooting deaths of his estranged wife, 33-year-old Nicole Hiles and 32-year-old Larry Whiteker.

    Bartlett made his decision after hearing testimony from Dr. Amy Trivette, assistant director of forensic services at Kentucky Correctional Psychiatric Center.
