On senior night, the Williamstown Lady Demons battled with Pendleton County, with the lead going back and forth.

The Lady Demons ultimately lost in overtime, falling 60-52 on Feb. 16.

“We did a poor job rebounding,” coach Mark Wilhoit said. “That was the key to me. They out hustled us and we have to do a better job of keeping them off the glass. To be small, we’re a pretty good rebounding team, but they exposed one of our weaknesses that we have to improve before the district tournament.”

What a difference a week makes.  Last Wednesday morning.

Landing a job in today’s challenging economy is no easy task, but for anyone attempting to enter the workforce, making a good first impression is a crucial step towards success. Wearing proper business attire to a job interview, for example, speaks volumes about what you have to offer.

But for women attempting to enter the workforce, a common problem exists: without a job, they can’t afford a suit, and without a suit, they can’t get a job.

After Grant County was pounded by snow and ice last week leaving residents without power for days and tree limbs littering the roadsides, Judge-Executive Darrell Link issued an emergency declaration making the county eligible for federal aid.

Link sent the paperwork declaring a disaster on Saturday, Jan. 31 to the governor’s office. Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear had already declared an emergency and Pres. Barack Obama signed off on the declaration meaning that money spent on snow removal and cleanup can be recouped.
