  • Kincaid Theatre announces summer schedule

    The summer Musical Theatre Workshop performers will begin June 17 with “On The Other Side of the Fence.” There will be evening performances at 7:30 p.m. on June 17, 18, 21, 23, and 24 and matinée performances at 2 p.m. on June 20 and 22.

    Kincaid’s professional production will present “Smoke on the Mountain.” Evening performances are at 7:30 p.m. on July 9, 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30. Matinee performances are at 3 p.m. on July 10, 13, 14, 17, 20, 21, 24, 27, and 28.

  • Smith-Holland plan wedding

    Doug and Patty Smith of Dry Ridge are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Ashley Nicole Smith to Ryan Holland, son of Kevin and Marsha Brewer of Dry Ridge.

    The wedding is being planned for 5:30 p.m. June 4 at Fairview Christian Church with Brother Richard Collins officiating.

    A reception will follow at the JMB Center in Dry Ridge.

    The bride attends Northern Kentucky University and is employed by CruCutters Lawn Care Services in Florence.

  • Agnes Poor Beach: She's a living doll

    She is a small woman, with an appearance almost as fragile as one of her porcelain dolls. Her gray hair is neatly styled, her earrings always match her clothes and her fingers are adorned with rings. Since 1988, she has taken dolls that were tossed out by others and turned them back into objects of love for needy children. In fact, many Grant Countians know her simply as “The Doll Lady.”

  • State Bound: GCHS, WHS track qualify for the state meet

    With the school year winding down this week and high school graduation on May 27, five seniors and five underclassmen will be heading to Louisville to compete in the KHSAA Track and Field State Championships May 27-28.

    Willamstown

    In the second year of the program, Williamstown High School will have four students competing in the state meet after competing in the regional meet at the Walton-Verona Sports Complex May 20 in Verona.

    Senior Steven Bradford qualified for two events, the 800 meter dash and the 4x400 meter relay.
