  • GCMS students learn science is entertaining, useful

    The Grant County Middle School the annual science fair and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineeering and Mathematics) night recently. The goal was to incorporate science, technology, engineering and math and to inform the students of careers that have some of those elements in them and to engage the students in activities in each area.

    Williamstown teachers, staff and even a few students got technologically advanced as part of Digital Learning Day.
    The national campaign that shines a spotlight on successful instructional practice and effective use of technology in classrooms took place Feb. 6.

    Williamstown teachers, staff and even a few students got technologically advanced as part of Digital Learning Day.
    The national campaign that shines a spotlight on successful instructional practice and effective use of technology in classrooms took place Feb. 6.
    To participate, Williamstown Independent Schools took part in a QR code scavenger hunt throughout the school using an Ipad to learn new digital teaching tools.

    Colton Carpenter  
    Colton Carpenter is the WES Headstart a.m. Student of the Week. He is in Pam Mullin’s and Janet Griffith’s class. “Colton loves to write stories and draws the pictures to go with them. He then reads them to the class,” Mullins said.
    His favorite thing about school is making friends and playing. His favorite book is ‘The Cat In The Hat’. His favorite thing to do as a family is go to the park.
