    Grant County and Williamstown Independent school districts are proficient in the third year of Kentucky’s Unbridled Learning for All Assessment and Accountability System.
    Improvement in assessments were seen in nearly all local schools at both districts.
    Grant County’s overall score rose from 65 in 2012-13 to 68.2 last year, placing the district in the 75th percentile in Kentucky.

  • Health officials encourage flu shots

    The season for runny noses, sore throats and achy muscles is back as health providers promote influenza vaccinations..
    The typical flu season goes from early October through the end of May and flu shots and nasal sprays are already available.
    During the 2013-2014 season, a total of 1,341 cases of flu were reported in Northern Kentucky, with 77 of those in Grant County.​

  • Police bust Dry Ridge meth lab

    Three people were arrested after police discovered an active methamphetamine lab at a Dry Ridge apartment.
    The Grant County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip through its Facebook page about a possible meth lab at Locust Ridge Apartments.

    Sheriff’s deputies, along with Williamstown Police, attempted to knock on the apartment door around 10:30 p.m. Oct. 14.
