  • ‘Grant County, the place I know, love’

    Hi, I’m Paige Taylor and I’ll be reporting and writing for the Grant County News this summer.

    I’m 20-years-old and I’m from Crittenden, where I have lived since I was in elementary school. I have spent many summers at the Eagle Creek Country Club swimming during the hot days, but this year I’m excited to write for my hometown newspaper.

  • Three Grant County teachers are saying goodbye ...

    Harrison prepared generations
    Linda Harrison is retiring from Dry Ridge Elementary after 33 years of teaching. Harrison has worked with children from kindergarten through grade 5 and is a graduate of EKU, NKU and Williamstown High School.

    Teaching was a natural choice for Harrison because her mother, uncle and four aunts were involved in education, inspiring her to be a teacher.

    The following students from Grant County  have achieved dean’s list honors for the 2011 spring semester at Bluegrass and Community Technical College.

    The dean’s list is open to full-time students who have earned an overall semester gpa of 3.5 or better in courses numbered 100 or above.

  • Kaplan University

    Cheyenne Thurman
    Cheyenne Thurman has earned an Associate of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Concentration In Early Childhood Development degree from Kaplan University.

    She has a 3.33 grade point average and is pursuing bachelor’s degree.
    Thurman is employed at Beck’s Daycare and Learning Center in Williamstown.

    She lives in Crittenden with her husband, Jonathan, and her son, Brandon.

    Thurman is the daughter of David Rice and Reynae Lockhart.

     

  • Summer food service program available throughout county

    The Grant County Food Service Program is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to all children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, and there will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service. Meals will be provided at the sites and times as follows:
