It was an estate sale in North Central Tennessee. It was an old farmhouse chocked full of the accumulated goods of a lifetime.
One “box lot” among hundreds that caught my eye was a box full of old paperback books containing southern gospel type songs.
Being an avid collector of such, I looked closely at each book. They were published by Stamps/Baxter and Vaughan, two of the largest publishers of gospel songs in America in the early 20th century.
