  • Lady Braves defeat Carroll County Lady Panthers

    The Grant County Lady Braves defeated the Carroll County Lady Panthers 7-2 on Sept. 20 and improved their record to 2-1-6.

  • Lady Braves lose at home to Villa Madonna Academy

    The Grant County Lady Braves volleyball team battled a strong Villa Madonna Academy team at home on Monday, Sept. 25, only to lose in three sets (25-20, 16-25 and 17-25).
    The best set of the night was the first one.  The Lady Braves used a strong defense and nearly a flawless effort offensively to take the first set 25-20.  

  • Lady Demons Volleyball captures third win

    The Williamstown Lady Demons won their third match of the season taking two of three sets against Bracken County on Thursday, Sept. 21, at Williamstown High School.  
    The Lady Demons, fresh off their first victory of the season against Trimble County, had to come back to take the match after losing the first set.  Bracken County jumped out to an early lead in the first set and held on as the Lady Demons made a late run at the visitors.

    Court Security Officer Wanda Bedard cited Antonio L. Tribuani, 22, of Dry Ridge, with failure to appear, at 11:30 a.m. Sept. 11 on S. Main Street. Tribuani was lodged at the Grant County Detention Center.
    Det. Scott Conrad cited Robyn L. Fischesser, 37, of Dry Ridge, with theft by deception under $10,000, at 3:04 p.m. Sept. 12 on Barnes Road.

  • Grant County Marching Band finishes fifth overall, first place in AAAA class at Ryle Tournament of Bands

    Larry A. Ryle Tournament of Bands at Larry A. Ryle High School in Union on Sept. 23.

    First place Class AAAA and fifth place overall.

    Michael Switzer of Williamstown is the Williamstown High School Youth Performance Award winner for September.
    He is a senior at WHS and is the son of Reynae and Chris Lockhart.

    Extra-curricular activities: I am involved in National Honor Society, member of Williamstown United Methodist Church, soccer, academic team and chorus.

  • Grant Couny Golf named Region 8 Champs

    For the first time since 1994, the Grant County boy golfers are regional champions. Houston Oaks Golf Course in Harrison County hosted the 2017 Boy’s Region 8 tournament Sept. 25 where the Braves took him the regional trophy.
    Not only did they win, they ran away with the championship by dominating the field with an 18-stroke win.
