A driver was injured and was airlifted from the scene at the intersection of KY-36 and KY-22 in Dry Ridge.

The accident occurred around 3 a.m. according to Kentucky State Police.

The driver's name and condition have not been released.

Kimberly Greene was cooking French fries on Dec. 9 and left the kitchen of her family’s Stewartsville Road home for just a second. When she returned, the hot grease had caught fire and spread quickly up the wall.

“There was smoke and fire,” she said. “We tried to put it out but it just happened so damned quick.”

She said she grabbed the pan of grease and tried to move it off the stove, but some of the grease splashed on the stove and the fire spread.

Tim Slone was tired on Saturday, Dec. 3, but he didn’t let a little lost snoozing keep him away from the annual Grant County Shop With A Cop trip.

“I love to see the kids eyeing the toys,” Slone, a deputy with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, said. “I think this event is good for the community and it gives these kids a chance to get things they might not have gotten.”

Officials are calling a fire that nearly destroyed a house on Main Street in Crittenden as ‘suspicious.”

The fire, at a white frame house on the corner of Center and Main, started around 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 12.
Crittenden Fire Chief Lee Burton said the fire was called in by a passing motorist.

“When we arrived there was heavy fire and smoke billowing from the front two rooms as well as the covered porch,” Burton said. “The fire was traveling up into the eaves of the house.”
