    Deputy KJ Little charged Michael D. Turner, 36, of Williamstown, with receiving stolen property under $10,000, at 8:45 p.m. Dec. 27 on U.S 25. Turner was lodged at the Grant County Detention Center.

    Kentucky State Police executed a warrant for Andy H. Richardson, no age given, of Crittenden, at 9:57 p.m. Dec. 18 on Humes Ridge Road. Richardson was lodged at the Grant County Detention Center.

    Capt. Dennis Switzer executed a warrant for Todd E. Beckham, 46, of Crittenden, for non-payment of fines, at 10:05 a.m. Dec. 13 on Crittenden Park. Beckham was lodged at the Grant County Detention Center.

    Deputy KJ Little executed a warrant for Zachary Bauwens, 34, of Williamstown, for theft by unlawful taking all others under $500, at 7:50 p.m. Dec. 6 on Baton Rouge Road. Bauwens was lodged at the Grant County Detention Center.

    Officer David Osborne cited Stephanie R. Strong, 25, of Corinth, with speeding, at 6:51 p.m. Nov. 29 on Arnie Risen Boulevard.
    Officer David Osborne cited Jonathan Yazell, 19, of Williamstown, with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, at 10:07 p.m. Nov. 30 on I-75.

    Chief Rick Kells executed a warrant for Cassie M. Slusher, 35, of Dry Ridge, for probation violation, at 2 p.m. Nov. 14 on Warsaw Avenue. Slusher was lodged at the Grant County Detention Center.

  • Three indicted for importing heroin

    Three men were indicted Nov. 9 by a Grant County grand jury for importing heroin.
    Bill Lee Melton, 29, Scott Lee Rains, 55, and Jeremy Wayne Heaverin, 35, each faces charges of importing heroin.
    Heaverin and Melton also were indicted for being persistent felony offenders.
    The charges stem from a Sept. 9 incident where the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Corinth Fire Department and Dry Ridge EMS responded to two females who had overdosed on heroin within 45 minutes of each other on Owenton Road in Corinth.

  • Bomb threat briefly evacuates GCMS

    Grant County Middle School was briefly evacuated Nov. 9 while law enforcement investigated a bomb threat.
    The investigation stemmed from a message written in a bathroom stall in a women’s restroom at the school claiming that the school would blow up in the sixth hour.
    Grant County Sheriff Chief Deputy Brian Maines said the school was evacuated while the sheriff’s office, Kentucky State Police and school officials searched for anything suspicious inside the building.
