  • Police beat 9-24-09

    Deputy Mike Garvey investigated an accident at 5:54 a.m. Sept. 8 on Dixie Highway. The drivers involved were Pamela M. Horton, 59, of Dry Ridge, driving a 1997 Chevrolet and Mary V. Glacking, 56, of Demossville, driving a 2008 Kia.

    Deputy Lee Jacobs investigated an accident at 7:55 a.m. Sept. 14 at Grant County High School. The driver involved was Zachney S. Woods, 17, of Dry Ridge, driving a 1972 Chevrolet. Woods struck a parked 2002 Mitsubishi belonging to Deborah Schafer.

    Grant County Sheriff's Office

    Deputy Kevin Burke investigated an accident at 7:51 p.m. on Aug. 22 on Leaning Oak Road. The driver involved was Bill White, 46, of Corinth, driving a 1998 Dodge. White struck a parked 1996 Ford belonging to Natasha Mercer of Berry.

    Sgt. Terry Osborne investigated an accident at 9:37 a.m. on Aug. 24 on Sherman Newtown Road. The drivers involved were Chad A. Coldiron, 28, of Crittenden, driving a 2005 Chevrolet and Aurtha R. Gordon, 82, of Crittenden, driving a 1988 Oldsmobile.

    Dry Ridge

    Chief Rick Kells investigated an accident at 11:51 a.m. Aug. 24 on the Dry Ridge Bypass. The drivers involved were Bennett Brown, 68, of Corinth, driving a 2002 Toyota and Ronald Clifton, Dry Ridge, no age given, driving a tractor.

    Chief Rick Kells investigated an accident at 8:39 a.m. Aug. 31 on the Dry Ridge Bypass. The drivers involved were Jason C. Nicholson, 26, of Williamstown, driving a 2005 Dodge and Anna McKnight, 52, of Dry Ridge, driving a 2005 Chevrolet. Nicholson was later charged with failure to produce an insurance card.

    CORRECTION:

    An item that appeared in last week’s Police Beat should have said Christopher Crittenden. 26, of Jonesville, was charged with public intoxication/controlled substance at 3:58 a.m. Aug. 13. He was lodged in the Grant County Detention Center.

    The News apologizes for the error.

    Dry Ridge

    Chief Rick Kells investigated an accident at 12:19 p.m. Aug. 8 on KY 22. The drivers involved were Anna M. Mills, 18, of Dry Ridge, driving a 1999 Chevrolet and Charles Asher, 62, of Dry Ridge, driving a 1992 Ford.

    Grant County Sheriff's Office

    Deputy Lee Jacobs executed a Harrison County warrant for Christoper L. Annis, 24, of Corinth. The arrest occurred at 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 5 at the Grant County Detention Center.

  • Indictments 8-20-09

    The grand jury, which met Aug. 12, returned indictments against five people.

    An indictment means there is probable cause to believe a crime has been committed; guilt or innocence is established later through the trial procedure.

    Those indicted were:

    • Tamela L. Gatewood, 42, with three counts trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense.

    • Mischelle R. Mayme, 35, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, first offense and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
