    Chief Rick Kells investigated an accident that occurred at 10:23 a.m. June 26 on KY 22. The drivers involved were Jewel R. Schulte, 75, of Dry Ridge, driving a 2009 Chevrolet and Diana Courtney, 40, of Dry Ridge, driving a 1998 Ford.

    Chief Rick Kells investigated an accident that occurred at 1:27 p.m. June 29 on Blackburn Drive. The drivers involved were Amber B. Huth, 25, of Dry Ridge, driving a 2005 Chrysler and Donald Draper, 67, of Williamstown, driving a 1989 Chevrolet.

    Grant County Sheriff's Office

    Deputy Kevin Burke investigated an accident at 5:21 p.m. July 3 on Warsaw Road. The drivers involved were Andrew Justice, 21, of Dry Ridge, driving a 2006 General Motors and Rose O’Nan, 34, of Dry Ridge, driving a 2006 Toyota.

    Deputy Andy Reeves executed a warrant for Christopher Webster, 26, of Williamstown, at 8:10 a.m. July 5 at the Grant County Detention Center. Webster was charged with a probation violation. He was lodged in the Grant County Detention Center.

    Deputy Brian Maines investigated an accident at 4:15 p.m. on June 24 on I-75 and KY 491. The drivers involved were Tina C. Damron, 37, of Dry Ridge, driving a 1994 Ford and Diane P. Clifton, 47, of Glencoe, driving a 2005 Ford.

    Deputy Lee Jacobs investigated an accident which occurred at 7:15 p.m. June 20 on Lemon Northcutt Road. The drivers involved were Holly Breeden, 23, of Dry Ridge, driving a 1999 Acura and Terry Crouch, 21, of Crittenden, driving a 1997 Chevrolet.

    Deputy Brian Maines investigated an accident which occurred at 5:15 p.m. on June 15 on Blackburn Lane. The drivers involved were Tracey A. Simpson, 42, of Dry Ridge, driving a 2000 Jeep and Cecil H. Lewis, 70, of Monroe, MI, driving a 2007 Jaguar.

    Capt. Gary Humphrey charged Deanna R. Lucas, 26, of Dry Ridge, with 11 counts of theft by unlawful taking at 1:30 p.m. on June 16 on Violet Road in Crittenden.

  • Williamstown man sentenced for sexual exploitation

    A Williamstown man will be spending nearly 20 years behind bars after he was found guilty of sexual exploitation of children.

    Ricky Lawrence was indicted July 12, 2008, and found guilty late last year. He was formally sentenced earlier in 2009 in U.S. District Court in Covington.

    Lawrence was found guilty of having sexually explicit photographs and images on his home computer of young children as well as photographs of his genitalia.

    Capt. Gary Humphrey investigated an accident at 12:14 a.m. June 3 on Dixie Highway in Corinth. The drivers involved were Jeanie G. Meade, 40, of Dry Ridge driving a 2004 Chevrolet and James W. Fryman III, 35, of Williamstown driving a 1996 Toyota.

    Sgt. Dennis Switzer investigated an accident at 6:25 p.m. June 4 on Taft Highway in Dry Ridge. The driver involved was Donald C. Guy, 68 of Corinth driving a 2005 Ford that ran off the roadway.

  • Sheriff's office audit findings released

     State Auditor Crit Luallen released the audit of the 2008 financial statement of the Grant County Sheriff, Charles Dills. State law requires the auditor to annually audit the accounts of each county sheriff. In compliance with this law, the auditor issues two sheriff’s reports each year: one reporting on the audit of the sheriff’s tax account and the other reporting on the audit of the fee account used to operate the office.

  • Indictments 6-11-09

    The grand jury, which met May 6, returned indictments against eight people.

    An indictment means there is probable cause to believe a crime has been committed; guilt or innocence is established later through the trial procedure.

    Those indicted were:

    • Agnacio Vargasigva, 20, with trafficking in 5 pounds or more of marijuana, first offense.

    • Adam R. Gibson, 25, with theft by failure to make required disposition of property over $300.

    • Ricky Dwayne Gross, 23, with burglary in the third degree and theft of a controlled substance.
